Godwin Urio – Our CEO

A warm welcome to Tanzania from Godwin Urio. Owner and Director of Chumia African Travel, born on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro (Marangu), rose in Arusha and currently live in Moshi town. I am open-minded, smart, humble easy-going with high sense of fairness.

Tanzania is the biggest country of East Africa, has whatever landscape you are dreaming about- be, it’s dry endless plains of the African savanna full of wildlife, lush green tropical rain forests with colorful birds, monkeys and Africa’s big five, paradise islands with powder-white beaches and lively coral reefs and mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain of Africa, or the volcanic highland, which are an exciting location for hiking tours.

I knew am living in a beautiful country and I knew that “Just living is not enough but Looking deep into nature, and then understand everything better”. That is why in the year 2004 I tried to make my climbing Mount Kilimanjaro dream come true, so for the first time in my school I convinced and organized a tour of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for my Co-secondary school students although at the End I self didn’t climb due to health problem but a tour was of high success. Three years later (2008) when in high school I again organized a first Mount Kilimanjaro trekking tour at Mwika secondary in Marangu and out of 19 students three of us made to

Changed my mind and new dream was born in me. “Sharing that experience with the world”. CHUMIA AFRICAN TRAVEL can bring you everywhere in Tanzania.

We share the experience, we sell what we know better

On top of that when you travel with Chumia African Travel you also help underprivileged children as we use 20% of our profit to support them with special needs, further more we conserve environment of Tanzania by planting tree with 5% of our profit as we want all generations to feel the experience.
